The Corporate and Financial Group comprises practitioners involved in corporate and financial communications in four principal areas:
- financial institutions, such as insurance companies and banks
- industry and commerce generally
- specialist corporate and financial communications consultancies of all sizes
- professional services, such as management consultancies and property companies.
Full membership of the Corporate and Financial Group is open only to those who are members of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Vocational membership of the Group is available to others, for example those who are not eligible to join the Institute or those for whom corporate or financial communications is only part of their work.
People join the Corporate and Financial Group for a variety of reasons. At one level it is to pick up topical information about the worlds of finance and commerce - for others it is more about how public relations and broader communications disciplines contribute to this. Others simply enjoy listening to an interesting or provocative lunchtime speaker once a month.
Common to all that we offer is the opportunity for members to meet fellow PR and communications professionals and thus network at some of the highest levels within the corporate and financial sectors of the PR industry. Whether in-house or agency, the Corporate and Financial Group's members have a common aim of combining insight and knowledge to further their careers, at the same time as enjoying themselves and making (and renewing) useful contacts.
Membership should be as equally appealing to those looking to get their first foot on the rung, as much as for those at the top of the ladder.
Only by joining and getting involved attending lunchtime speaker events, attending interesting visits or simply coming along to the annual summer party will people know what they have been missing!
Full membership of the group is available free for members of the CIPR if you select the Corporate and Financial Group;
Vocational membership (all those who are not CIPR members) is £75 for annual subscription (includes two lunchtime meetings);
Student membership is £10 a year
Group membership for a group of four to seven members attracts a 15 per cent discount with a group of eight or more receiving a discount of 25 per cent.
